I'm heading over to manchester next saturday for a gig and was thinking of going to the markets first. We'll be driving up and getting there at about 3pm. What will parking be like? How close are the markets to Academy 3?

I'd park out by the Academy, rather than in town. You can then jump on a bus into town. They're about every 30 seconds from there and will take you 5 minutes. Just jump off outside the town hall

Markets are by the town hall, in the evening it's a big takeaway and outside bar. Expensive but atmosphere is good with a decent group.

Just avoid it, it's absolutely horrific. Like a human cattle press. I lasted 10 minutes, (and 5 of those were fighting my way out)
