Hello all,
Whilst putting the bike back in my car in the dark I managed to close the door on the connectors of my MJ 872 and battery.
They are now quite bent out of shape and dont work!
I am keen to get them up and running again and wondered if anyone else had done this or knew of the best place to get fixed / buy the connector parts.
I have a soldering iron and could do it myself (i think) but dont know where to get new connectors or how ti decide which way around to connect the wires?
All help would be appeciated.
Thanks
Al.
PS thought about asking Smudge for help, but then saw the note about his parents ๐
Could you just buy an extension cable and chop it up?

Bit of a contradiction there. You either can or cant do it.
Really helpful contribution Gear Suck.
Thanks!

Now that really is helpful!
Cheers Muke!
Update on this in case anyone else has done the same.
Went to Maplin and a very nice man helped me take the broken connector apart to reveal the nicely colour coded wires inside and that the red wire was connected to the inside connector.
It turns out that the battery side connector was fine.
About 15 mins with a soldering iron and some heat shrink and I now have a fully working light again.
(The heat shrink will help keep the water out but also the body of the original connector was larger than the replacement so it will help keep the connectoin tight and hopefully keep the water out)
Maplin in great service shocker!
Cheers
Al.
Nice one!
I replaced mine with the waterproof connectors off fleabay, used part of the old connectors to connect to the charger. Been fully waterproof through some extremely grotty conditions
