Hi All,

Anyone been up there in the last week and managed to ride, looking at going tonight and then up to Cat & Fiddle, back down Cumberland Brook, through the forest and back to the Smithy. I was up there a couple of weeks back and Charity Lane was just one long snow drift, totally unrideable.

So what are the conditions like??

Back up plan is Mellor and Hayfield ๐Ÿ™‚

Carlos

I went round Hayfield last weekend, it was horrible, up over Chinley churn/new allotments was either a massive bogfest, or unridable snow drifts. Snake road was bad in places, the drop from the shooting cabin was very wet and slippy, then my hub exploded so I went home!
I'm off round Marple/Mellor/Strines in a minute. Its been fine round there, indeed I reckon its all frozen solid today so should be good going.

I'll report back later!

Cheers for that, I wouldn't be doing all Hayfield, Over from Mellor and the bit along to the visitor Centre, through the village and up Snake Path to the Shooting Cabin, over Middle Moor and then back over Lantern Pike to Mellor.

Enjoy your ride

Just in case anybody is interested;-

Charity Lane = Rideable
Macc Forest = Rideable
Across moor from Cat & Fiddle = Rideable
Cumberland Brook = Rideable

Not a bad ride to be honest, I know there is a bit of road and that Macc Forest isn't exactlly taxing but as a ride from work for a couple of hrs it's easy to get 18 mile in.

If your venturing up that way just be careful of the ICE as there is still a fair bit about. The snow thats there is rideable but again take care.
