Got a Mythic Paradox with a 30.9 x 410mm Thomson seatpost in it and it seems that its very slightly too small for the frame tubes thus allowing a very small amount of movement in the tube below the seat collar and so creaking when I'm sat in the saddle pedaling.
The seat post doesn't slip as its only a very slight difference and isn't at the seat collar but further down the frame and the post fits quite sungly but the is a definate amount of movement at the bottom end of the seat post.
Really cant see that i will be able to get a coke can shim in there so has anyone got any ideas as to what the best solution might be. Is there miniscule differences in the diameter of seat posts as i didn't have the creaking problems with the Banshee post that came with the frame but that did slip a bit under my weight?
Any ideas as the creeking is really getting on mine and my riding buddies nerves ๐ ๐
You greased it? Try a different/original post ?
Yep greased it and tried carbon paste as well but neither worked.
I only ride Thomson posts and they seem to be the only one i can't bend due to the ovalised machining so really need a soultion that will allow me to continue running the Thomson ๐ฏ
