BBC news says that a body has been discovered near where the bobby went missing when the bridge gave way in Workington.
Very sad, he was only trying to help others.

That's a real shame. The only positive is that he died helping the public in the line of duty, not at the hand of some thieving vermin with a gun. Terrible for his family at this time of year.

PC Bill Barker, father of 4. 25 years service, died as a result of the collapse of the main bridge in Workington, Northside Bridge - the main bridge on the A597 into the town.
