Anyone riding in Scotland on Saturday would know how much a good pair of waterproof socks is worth. My Dexshell mid-length ones lasted about three hours before I could feel water sloshing around my ankles inside the sock, thanks to it wicking down my legs. I've just ordered a pair of their 'wading socks' which pull up over the whole calf - but someone on the Bikepacking scotland forum suggested using drysuit wrist cuffs for a below-calf waterpfoof sock, to keep splashes at bay. Has anyone tried such an arrangement?

Your socks were waterproof, you just need to come up with a method of stopping water getting in the big hole at the top.

The same problem exists with wellington boots unless you wear something water proof over the tops.

I'm hoping that my newly ordered waterproof trousers will stop water running into my socks.

Tried using a cut off cuff of a heavy duty pair of Marigolds around the top of my Sealskins. Worked to keep water out but reduced circulation and got chilly in colder weather.

The Dexshell wading socks do have a seal on the top. Not as tight as a drysuit cuff but possibly good enough to keep rainwater out.
