Yo all,

Just thinking about getting a bit more use out of my bmx, mainly just for blemming around the town rather than be overbiked on me chunky-tyred mtb.
short seat post is great for doing tricks n shizzle, but i'm not v.good at that..

is there such a thing as a long seat post for a bmx or am i being silly?

Errrr, yes they do exist, but why? For the cost of a seatpost you could get a BSO from JJB/halfords/ASDA which would be more practical!

Put a hinge in the middle of your frame and hey presto, you'll have a Brompton.

Charlie, what are they and do you have 450mm 30.9 posts?

most modern BMX use 25.4 seatposts

Better to be over-biked than under-geared.

whats a BSO?

i wont be undergeared for the town as its pretty flat and right nearby.

clearly i need to get some burberry too in order to fit in with the chavs on bmxs.

could be the new niche. ๐Ÿ™‚

any more pics btw? the burner looks good.. any action shots?

A few pivotal-style posts are available in longer length (you'll need a new pivotal seat though).

Look out for the Alienation Billyclub and King Flagpole too.

I will assume you are after a 25.4mm post, as you haven't stated what size you are looking for. Most BMXs are 25.4mm

I had the same issue but could only find 200mm posts in 25.4mm.

They are out there, finding a long one in stock is another thing though.

I got a Thomson 330mm 25.4mm which is holding up fine, and quite comfy.

You can get a quite a few bmx race posts in 25.4, 26.8 and 27.2 around 400mm

If its a race bmx then it will most likely 27.2 unless its a redline 26.8.

I have a 400mm 26.8 in my redline. I ride a local loop doing sprint sessions and generally quite like bombing around on it. QR clamp to slam it when i'm at the track.,
