Any recommendations for the above-I have an Endura Gridlock for cooler duties & a Montane featherlight for a windshirt (bit flappy in the wind though)but need a lightweight packable waterproof jacket for a 15 mile commute & emergency MTB duties-only really need it a few times a year normally so don't want to spend a fortune.

I use an Endura Rebound jacket. It is only 'showerproof' but the big bonus is that it's cheap (£35) and very breathable. Review here:

I don't know how much you need to pack it down, but it seems to pack down to a lump about 14cm across and 6-7cm deep (I have mine here with me at work), although you can obviously squidge it down a little bit more with some pressure.

Its good for MTB duties because when you rip it you won't have ruined a £100 eVent jacket or suchlike.

The Montane H20, pack down really tiny, and I've found it to be pretty waterproof for a lightweight jacket. Costs about £35-£40.

Thanks for the offer Karnali but it would be too big for me-my featherlight is small and a bit on the flappy side.

Endura superlight - packs pretty small.
I bought a Marmot Mica off here last week and that's very packable and waterproof (good breathability too, and the hood fits over a helmet.

I love my Gore Alp X which I picked up in a sale but normally they are around £100 - £120.
