Travelling to Lands End today, and riding to John O'Groats over the next 8 days.

I'm slightly apprehensive. Any inspiring quotes out there?

(and thanks to Spokeshirts for getting the Badajapadlejog t-shirts done very quickly!)

A friend of mine and his pal did it a couple of weeks ago.
He described the last day as, "The hardest Days riding he had ever done in his life!". His blog here...

Have a great ride. Bon Courage. Take loads of photos.

Thanks - I'll have a read of your pal's blog - looks like we'll have a head wind too!

Is it too late to find a route that doesn't involve riding on the A49 for two days?

Three of us did it eighteen months ago for my 40th. We took 10.5 days but camped and carried everything. Weather was shite most of the time with heavy rain but we had a tail wind most days. Next time and there will be one I will take longer and do more sight seeing. A49 wasn't that bad. Last day was over by lunch and was easy relaxed going. You've pretty much done it by then. Eat lots and remember its fun. Helmsdale and Berriesdale were the hardest by far. You'll get fitter as you go as well. Have fun and good luck.

Omar - wow, just seen how much you raised! Our charity angle is secondary - we decided to do the ride for the challenge, then lots of people kept asking which charity we were doing it for... so we set up a Just Giving page for our local Air Ambulance (as we're mainly mountain bikers it's more like insurance than donation).
