About to put a lefty max 140 on, it has the red spring fitted but I need to fit a brown spring as am pretty heavy. What will riding with the red spring be like? Would I be able to lock it out and ride it as rigid?

there is no lock out on the lefty max 140
the red spring just blows through the travel faster than the black spring (I think you need black not brown, check the manual)
As always no expert, but have played with them a little.
errr obviously dependant on the model of lefty max, but they don't have a lockout normally... unless you talking about modding it in some way.

I need a <ahem> black spring, but did ride a red sprung one, it was ok but obviously not great.
Querty cycle will do you a [black] spring for £35 (dunno if they will include the STW discount too) if that helps any. Also tried Alf Jones (none), they suggested asking TF Tuned, and I didn't get round to asking Thumbprint
