took my son and his pal to lee quarry today.
AWESOME 8) 8) 8)
It is good isn't it?
Which sections were favourites?
the 3 downhills with the big berms, and the long last descent to the bottom gate right from the top.
Amen brother. Did you manage to get over to Cragg Quarry ?
Lee Quarry rocks, Cragg Quarry rolls 8)
so was up lee quarry yesterday is there a link ride to get to cragg quarry? can anyone explain how to get there or link to somewhere that does!
Ton - was it as good as say doing a classic peak ride, like the Lady Bower figure of eight? I have the choice of what to do but want to make the most of the day on Sunday.
Great map Jon - has helped confirm my suspicion that I can get to Cragg over-land via Edenfield / Ramsbottom. Nice warm-up on the STWeekender mornings...
geeTee,
do not try & compare Lee Quarry to the Peaks or anywhere for that matter.
The Peaks are awesome for a real days out ride as are many places.
Sure you can do a great ride encompassing Lee Quarry but I see it as a training place. There is the outer loop but the place is just great for doing the short descents several times and learning and practising technique. Oh, and the pumptrack is totally addictive.
Thanks MadBill - that helps me decide where to go with my one day out.
