Hi all

Looking to liven up the front end of my salsa Fargo Ti to make it a bit more ‘capable’ for rougher rides - nothing too extreme though 🙂 I think adding a ‘normal’ fork would uglify the bike more than I could cope with, but the offerings from Lauf, although weird, look okay - has anyone used them, first hand experience welcome 🙏

I have one but took it off recently. It makes for a crazy light 29er (I have a travers russti) but if you are used to buttery smooth suspension they are not for you.

They are pretty unforgiving if you use them as a skill compensator (which is what I need) as they bounce you out of your terrible rocky line choice.

But for longer distance slogs on fairly easy trails they are great at taking the lumps and buzz off

I have one on my fat bike. I like it. I didn’t want the complexities of a hydraulic fork and didn’t want a lot of travel and it fits the bill very well.

As said above, it isn’t for ploughing through obstacles, but for increasing comfort/reducing fatigue on a bike like a Fargo it would be ideal.

Have you thought about a 3 inch tyre on a rigid fork instead?

Thanks for the replies folks - I have been running both 29er+ and 27.5+ tires on the Fargo, I actually did the gravel dash on the 29er plus chronicles...but I wanted to try to keep the ti Fargo a bit more lightweight and racer🤷🏻‍♂️ Maybe I could try some 2.4s or 2.6s instead

i've sold a few, great if you think of them as a "flex stem" kind of thing to take the buzz out of light trails, so great for long distance endurance xc events but they are no suspension fork in the traditional sense. no lock out and minimal damping so they will pogo over repeated big hits. super light though

Haven’t tried but pretty sure you can get a 3 inch tyre on the Lauf trail racer boost as well.
