Need to find somewhere to head off on a week/10 day holiday with my pregnant better half.
Plan was to head off to the alps but she has popped in the last few days and a big drive to the alps won’t be nice. Thinking of somewhere we can go where she can chill out by a pool/sea and I can head off for a blast in the hills for a morning/afternoon. Somewhere with some nice culture would be good.
Not sure about culture but on the south coast of Spain near Marbella you are right next to beaches and pools and some mountains right behind it. The ride I did whilst I was there was rough and rocky but quite wide more like a fireroad kind of width. I imagine there must be some good stuff here though.
If you’re happy to fly a bit further then Madeira / Gran Canaria / Fuerteventura might also fit the bill. Madeira looks particularly interesting to me.
Flying? Croatia is nice. Especially some of the islands just off split.
