G-One Speeds are great. Used them in 2.35 29" and 50mm 650B. There's a 2.0 x 29" I think. They do show wear fairly fast but the relatively thin tread area and casing is why they feel so quick for a big tyre.

WTB Byway’s work well on road and have the advantage of a bit of grip for towpath/cycle paths. Easy enough to set op tubeless, but only 44mm width in 700c flavour so might not be chunky enough for you?
Wear is really good so should last well.

Edit:
Less costly than when I bought them!

I have some Byways from 2016 that I just can't wear out. Thick tread area and fairly hard rubber. Not as fast as G-Ones but I still use the Byways as the go-to road + gravel tyres.

+1 for Renee Herse. I have them for road rides on the gravel bike. Comfy and “fast” tyre, not always easy to source though.

https://www.svencycles.co.uk/rene-herse-tyres-700c

I use the 38mm, Barlowpass. Excellent tyre, but not as wide as you requested. Link above shows you the range.

I’m very pleased with my Schwalbe Marathon Almotions - I’m currently running them with tubes but I’m planning on switching them to tubeless in the summer for even better rolling resistance..👍😎

Marathon Almotion and Marathon efficiency both tubeless ready, and come in 50 and 55mm widths in 700/29er size...

G-One speed comes in a 29x2.35", G-One All Round in a 29x2.25", both tubeless ready.

Johnny Watts 365 in Performance Line folding casing (NOT wire bead) in a 29x2.35" will work tubeless.

Thunder Burts available in 2.1, 2.25 and 2.35" widths in 29er size, all tubeless ready, you'll be staggered how fast they roll for an MTB tyre!

G-One range all available in 50mm width in 700/29er, all tubeless ready too, including the new G-One Overland tyre which should fit the required bill quite nicely... https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/components/tyres/gravel-bike-tyres/schwalbe-g-one-overland-tyre-review/

You've certainly got options...

What size do you need, @ton?
I've got a barely used pair of Schwalbe G-One (Speed TLE) 27.5 x 2.35 tyres in my garage looking for a new home.
