I've just ordered a new one, with trepidation I might add as I had the i850 and when that worked it transformed my riding experience. I say when it worked- most of the time I was like a demented cowboy rodeo-riding the lever trying to get the thing to drop.
So, experiences- how are you finding yours?
Mines been fine for over a year - get the remote version tho and replace the cable+outer that it comes with.
Mine is back with Superstar as it's never worked from new, sticks down about half the time. Nice and easy to service, it just made no difference. I'll see what they can do with it, ChrisL's got a pair and they both seem to be working right now after teething troubles, I'll be happy enough if mine is the same. It's been good when it works but the seat clamp is terrible, like something off a tesco bike.
TBH if I was buying one now I'd get a Reverb, no question at all. But the 900 was £140 at the time.
Moose cycles also have them for £139 at the moment.
Seatclamp? It'd be the same as i850- its basic but I never had any issues with that part- just sticking down.
No problem with the seat clamp here - what's to go wrong - single M6 bolt on mine....
It's just a detail but a pretty crappy one... Weird thing to get wrong on a complicated product. It's not the same as the 850 though. It works fine once done up but adjustability and usability's very poor. Maybe I've just been spoiled by decent seatposts lately but it's pretty much exactly the same as the rubbish bikes from my childhood.
