How good is a Kona Cowan (16spd) as 1st big wheeled bike for my lad (11) - currently on a 24" Kona something.
Is it too much of a jump bike or would it be ok for messing about on trails

I reckon it would be a great 1st big wheeler for a kid to thrash. I wouldn't say its too jumpy. I used to rag mine about in the woods and I'm 6'2" :o)
I fact I think all kids should learn how to ride on bikes like this. It makes me cringe when I see kids on either full on XC race bikes or 6" full-sussers...
