Right, I'm doing a 230 mile sponsored road ride on 14/15 of the month and need to replace a few bits of kit. I need a new road helmet, small daysack and some energy drink tabs/sachets to go in my waterbottle.
Any recommendations for decent kit, preferably on offer/discount/going cheap as I'm currently skint?
Bin the daypack and take some cash/bank cards. Your back will thank you.
It's from LlanfairPG to Cardiff, v.rural route, so cash/cards take second place to food and water. Also need space for tools/tubes/co2.

Not that rural surely and as you have a map you can plan your routes and stops.
Small saddle pouch for tools and a couple of tubes.
2X bottle cages and bottles.
Bananas in pockets and stops for in larger towns.
That's just my thoughts though...
Good luck on the ride, what route are you taking?
I also need space for a decent first aid kit (essential last year) and tubes (got through 5 last time).
Not sure of the route - sorted by one of the other riders, but it's def going to be taking in plenty of lakes and reservoirs.
Any recommendations for road helmets?
