right guys
after my topic on upgrading to a carbon frame i have since received a txt from a mate saying that his mate was selling a k2 evo 3 with marzocchi front sus and noleen rear, hope brakes, and mavic 5 rims all for £100.
having bought the bike im wondering if anybody knows anything about these bikes and also as its paint scheme is not to my liking should i get it painted or leave it original?
noleen went bust didnt they ?
will be hope sports or possibly o/c2s and as such hope stopped making spares.
you were complaining about heavy bikes earlier - this will be as heavy or possibly heavier than your hardrock.
for 100 pound , if it all works and you want it then ride it as is - dont chuck money at it.
i still want a lighter bike but for a ton thought i would add this to the shed too, it actually appears to weigh about the same as my hardrock
If it's a coil shock, like Google image search suggests, I'd bet money it's heavier.
Were you having trouble keeping up with your mates due to fitness reasons or skill? This will probably boost your techy ability but require more effort on the way up.
I'd have saved up for some new wheels and forks for the Hardrock personally.

Edit: Just read that 🙂 Fair enough reasoning, I've done the same far too many times! Could be good fun, as above I wouldn't chuck any more money at it though personally.
