I have been refurbishing a jump bike with a spannish BB (19mm spindle with 37mm outside diameter bearings which sit in holders a bit like a hollotech system). When i put it back together i noticed that the drive side dust cover was missing. I don't remember taking this off when i stripped it, and expect it to be the cause of the failure of the bearing in the first place. having spent a fair bit on the bearings i now cannot find the dust covers separatly without spending another £30 on new bearings etc. Any ideas on where to get this? The ones i have found are for mid sized bearings with a 20mm spindle size or 41mm OD.
Spanish BB where around in BMX for a while during the great bottom bracket wars. Might be worth asking on the mid school BMX Facebook group.
Do you have a local bike shop that deals in BMX's? That's the kind of thing a mechanic would have floating around among their nuts and bolts.
I do have a local bike shop which is a BMX specialist, just not finding time to visit them, i have also e-mailed them on the same subject not had a reply yet..
