XTR 970 needs new jockey wheels. What's worth getting? Last time I tried third party, the bearing in the bottom one developed so much play that the chain got jammed between the pulley and the mech plate, pulled the mech around and ripped off the hanger.
Tacx and BBB have both been fine for me. The ebay tat from China less so.
I've just gone back to BBB after a disappointing foray in Uberbike jockeys. Seized and heavily worn after 3 months...
Ceramic bearings give you an extra 3 watts. Can you imagine !
Mt Zoom Speedwheels have lasted longer than anything else I've ever used. They've gpt a tougher version too which I use in the Saint mech on my DH bike but I think that's overkill, the lighter ones last forever.
I got tired of collapsing bearings in aftermarket stuff so I now either have Shimano or Hope on my bikes.
Hope seem to be coping well so far but only about 6 months in.

As a shameless tart and fanboi, I replaced the shark-toothed jockey wheels in my XT rear mech with a pair of Hopes at around 2.5 x the cost of the Shimanos.
So far, the same difference of absolutely zero that one might well have expected...
Look nice when you're close enough to see them mind.
