Coming the other way on today's commute was a bloke on an old 28" wheel lugged and brazed Granddad bike. It had those one piece bullbars on it that go all the way round and join in the middle and tri bars, which he was on, bobbing away at a fair old clip. He was wearing lycra tights, a non-cycling outdoor sport type jersey, a rucksack and a purple spangly full face helmet.
I have a few ideas:
1) he was doing it for a bet
2) that's his commuter bike and he was going somewhere for a bit of DH action - armour in the rucksack, wearing the lid to save carrying it
3) he was a very nervous cyclist hence full face helmet on a quiet country road

dam that was me, i best stay off the roads in future to keep a low profile :/
Pics? I don't have a camera phone currently, and I think he'd have found it weird if I did a U turn and chased him down holding a camera out..
I think maybe his concept of weirdness is a little different to mine
