Arrived in the post just after I'd enjoyed my daily dump. Most disappointing

I promptly bought some knee pads, those voted most comfy and sized down as recommended.

I waited for Mrs S to go out before opening it. Just to be on the safe side.

No idea!

So we'll have to take your word for its chunky awesomeness ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah cheers for the porno mag style wrapper. My wife called me up and gave me a bolloxing saying either I had order something else bike related or it was some kind of catalogue which meant I intended to buy more stuff and then gave me a lecture...again! All a bit harsh! She is going to be even more pissed off when the suspension forks turn up later in the week.

'Grumble' and 'grot' are superb words to describe 'art pamphlets' ๐Ÿ˜‰
It did have an air of seediness when it arrived I must admit!

All that matters is that it doesn't have that stupid "PREMIER EDITION" cockbox on it. Who on earth thought that was a good idea on issues that had removed their cover lines for aesthetic reasons?
Feels good and looking forward to reading it.

Look's like it might be one of the good ones, really pleased to the comment pieces have returned.

My wife assumed it was singletrack, dull but true. Another dull fact i'm not at home but i look forward to getting to grips with its enormous girth this evening when i return from my wanderings.

First proper read this morning and although I like it I did a quick check against issue 105 and yes, the type is massive now. It's like every two pages have been stretched out to three. Look at the pad test or the Romania article or the apocalypse bikes. The pics have got bigger too. Much as I love my POC VPD pads they don't need a DPS for a review.
Im tempted to do a word count because it doesn't feel like lot of extra copy, just heavier version of the normal mag with a page from Sainsbury's food mag - sorry - a pic of cheese with a caption - thrown in.

Who on earth thought that was a good idea on issues that had removed their cover lines for aesthetic reasons?

Who knows, the last STW cover I saw in WHSmiths looked like someone had done a blind random pick from DaFont's Novelty section.

I'm also pleased the font has got larger, but surely the mag isn't 'beefed up' (quote from the cheese page), you've just spaced out the words.
Agree the cheese page is like a Sainsbury's mag.
Sad there's no grinder feature, just 3 recommended products.
Haven't read the features yet, but photography is still ace, esp the summit photo on P.143.

There IS more content. We added new rows on the planning board and filled them.

There IS more content. We added new rows on the planning board and filled them.

I think you are confusing pages with content.

eddiebaby: 18 years of niche sports magazine and currently 11 years in newspapers.

Spreading a story over more space doesn't increase content, just real estate.
Yay for Janet and John type sizes and bigger pictures.
And a picture of cheese.

I think you are confusing a content planning board with a flat plan. I know what we planned, created and laid out.

Let's continue this by email Mark, tomorrow though as my mate in the production department had a baby yesterday so it is a bit intense in the studio.
And remember I did say I liked the mag and resubscribed a month or so back.

I'd have taken 'more content' to mean more articles, not the same number made a bit longer/more photos.
Personally thought this issue was a bit weak, feels padded out.
Been a subscriber since issue 2 & know there are always ups & downs but I didn't realise this was the 'new style' mag just from reading.
