Servicing my 2011 Reba 29er 100mm and this is on the air shaft. I don't think my fork is supposed to go any longer than 100mm (leg has markings for 80 and 100 sag info) But my superlight would very much like an extra 10mm. Remove it??
Many thanks for any help - Wally.

So long as the bottom of the rebound damper rod still protrudes lower than the air rod then you should be fine.
Inflate the air side with the lowers off to check. If bottom of the air rod is lower than the damper then its a big fat no no!

Normski - the air side is hugely longer from the word go (dual air). These forks have the sid lowers - where the damper is deep in the forks and the air shaft the whole length. Any ideas?

Sorry, When I said the bottom I meant the bit of the air rod that locates at the bottom the lowers (the bit where the diameter of the rod has the lip and gets thinner)

Ok - have removed spacer - will put in and pressure up a little and check air shaft is shorter than the rebound.

This picture shows how odd these forks are. They are 10cm lower - but now sit correctly on the guide marks.

If the fork came fitted to the bike, and assuming you've had the bike from new it might just be that the manufacturer spec'd the fork to have 90mm travel. Removing that spacer has returned it to 100mm travel.

It did come with a new superlight 29er, 100mm both ends.
Fork always sat at the first line on the 100mm scale.
