Is this usual? Charging to test ride the bikes they want to sell you? I don't get it . . .

Does anybody actually pay to do this?

Often it's refunded when you buy a bike.

Edit, having read the link, £15 for a days uplift and food is a bargain, on your bike or theirs....

Includes uplift and BBQ - seems alright to me

Seems a bargain that.

A few places have a cost that gets returned when you buy. But not many include an uplift and lunch - superb.

Not guaranteed a go on the bikes either.

Must be me, grumpy and tight.
I've gotta lighten up!
