Any waterproof ones available yet? Manufacturers seem pretty slow tooling up for this.....

Not sure I would be comfortable having my £700 phone strapped to the bars!!

I am just getting a rugged case and putting phone in the camelback for biking

Well, it's packed with all these features, strava, HRM, mapping etc, I want to see it. It's only for road bike, probably think twice about it on MTB depending where I was riding.

Got to be waterproof as well.

A friend of mine runs a website called racewaredirect.com and manufactures all sorts of items like this (Garmin mounts/SRM mounts etc). I don't think they have waterproof Iphone ones yet but keep checking as they seem to have new configurations coming out all of the time. Or contact them to discuss as the tech they use makes it possible to make totally custom configs.

I use a lifeproof 4S case with a GoPro mount on my motorbike and it is amazing. With the plethora of GoPro mounting solutions you can mount it anywhere. They have just bought out the iPhone 5 case so the bike and GoPro mounts will follow shortly.

My phone has been in the sea, swimming pools, shower, pints, and drowned in coffee on a tray plus fallen from a 12ft ladder so far and nothing had harmed it.

Just found this review...

Having smashed my Garmin in Finale (luckily they do a good crash replacement scheme!), I'd strongly recommend against bar mounting.

Something I saw a lot of riders doing out there was mounting either their Garmin or smartphone on the top tube. Slightly less visible but a small tradeoff against a pricey smashed phone/GPS unit......

Maybe look at one of those armband type fitments and tweak it up with gaffer tape to seal, then fix it to the TT?

🙂

Not a bad idea. A few ideas there but nothing sorted yet. I'm amazed this is taking so long. The aApple store in Bristol didn't even have any i5 cases of any sort when I went in last month...
