Im off to Clapham tomorrow for a ride around Ribblehead and just very curious can you get to the top of Ingleborough (legally) from Chapel le Dale and then Back down to Ingleton or is the summit route (bridleway ) via Ingleton

Just trying to format a route from this https://flattyres-mtb.co.uk/route-guides/yorkshire-mtb-routes/ingleborough-circuit-summit/

Not from Chapel le Dale, the Ingleton route is the only legal way up Ingleborough.

Other ways are available, but I really wouldn't recommend them for a weekend in June. There will be zero pleasure to be had trying to descend through the throngs of 3-Peakers - pretty much every worthwhile route to and from the summit will be busy, but the CLD and Horton routes especially so.

No you can't. Also accessing other paths by bike would also put into contest the Three Peaks which is apparently struggling with access issues, hence it's cancelled this year.

Edit:

If you're in Clapham, there's loads of track around Austwick, Feizer and Wharfe that are good fun. Lot's of other options where you can avoid the Ingleborough area.

Here's a big route from an MBO a few years ago. Ignore the sticky out bits and come back through Chapel le dale from Ribblehead rather than down the main road.
