So looking at going form 45mm rake to 55mm rake.
Will it result in slower steering?

No, it'll mean less trail so to generalise it'll be lighter / more neutral steering, ie less weight-induced 'wheel flop'. Sort of like twitchier, but not the same 'twitchier' as a steeper HA gives you as the wheel's pushed further out, rather than tucked in. Imagine a more DH/Trail bike type of weight distribution at the front without the associated slack feeling.
