need a new front light, dont want it mega bright, no no more than a 1000 lumens.
needs to burn a long time, needs to be good in cold weather. and single bulb.
any ideas please.
Moon Meteor - there's a few different versions with different lumens - 400 up to 2000 I think.
I've got the 1300, and on medium setting (900ish) it last for ages.
Cost about £35 and comes with bar & helmet mounts, and a remote button.
I think these are the best value for money light you can buy.

Very bright when you need it. Long run time when you need it.
Replaceable batteries if you need them.
Very sturdy handlebar mount.
Mine is a fair few years old now and still going strong.
Have you looked on the Exposure or Cateye outlet sites linked to members discounts ?.
18% off at Exposure and 30% off at Cateye.
eg
Exposure Axis mk10 is 1300 lumen and will cost you £115 after discount
Just got one of these:

Ideal if you are using it on the road as it has a beam cutoff so you don’t blind cars and pedestrians.
I’m pleased with it as the battery lasts well and it’s really solid - it feels like it could take a good knock. It’s quite small and tidy, and doesn’t take up much bar space. You can even twist the lens and put it under the bar if you like. The beam pattern is not quite Stvz0, but it’s not bad.
The remote kind of works if you like that sort of thing, but I find it a bit fiddly. My only real problems are that the flash pattern is a bit slow (I rarely use flash anyway) and that it has a rubbery type clip (but I had an old Raveman solid clip that fits, so I switched).
I got it from bike inn at what I consider a very good price

Incidentally, I got one of these

For the rear at the same time. It’s great, nobody could use the ‘I just didn’t see them’ excuse with this.
for road or offroad? for road please get one with a proper beam shape
Hope R4 with the big battery pack....
@ton- get whatever you need from Exposure. My Diablo is ancient but still has great battery life. Absolutely the best and you have their back up for any repairs. Not the cheapest but you can get it refurbished and then hand it down to your grandkids.
