what is good, hike a bike stylee...
Shimano MT90s are tops. I read all the great reviews in ST and elsewhere but ummed and ahhed for ages over the price (the wrong side of £100).
Once I finally got round to shelling out I wondered why I hadn't done it sooner - they're really solidly put together, have a full Goretex lining, nicely adjustable lacing with tidy loops, excellent grippy sole and are still plenty stiff for riding. What's not to like?
I've used Shimano, Specialized, Adidas, Northwave, Cannondale and Nike. Best? The ones that fit you.
I've recently started operating MT41s and they seems really good. Nice recessed cleat bed and all that. Very airy though, step in the smallest of puddles and you get a wet foot.

do you need training to operate shoes?
