cyclists

I only have to glimpse another cyclist to have already judged them as disagreeable and self important, and probably much, much worse..

Is this an example of on-line conditioning...?

May I add cyclists with the little rear view mirror on their helmets?

Say ten Hail Mary's and put ten pence in the box.

My favourite example this week was a 50 something MAMIL (probably converted from golf about 5 years ago by the look of him, that or a lifelong roadie, they look similar) tanking purposefully along the seafront at a steady rate..

It was a busy day, lots of folk milling about on their holidays, a bit daft in the sun..

I clock this MAMIL from across the road and smell trouble, and sure enough, within less than a second he was bellowing at full volume.. 'USE YOUR ****ING EYES.. ****ING ****ER!!' his displeasure expressed in filthy expletives, causing families to stop and stare..

Who knows what had caused this rage? Perhaps one of the 100's of children had stepped out excitedly to cross the road.. perhaps a driver trying to filter from the left had not seen his rapid approach due to the crowds..
Something had caused him to alter his rhythm..
Where was he off to in such a hurry? The road is a 2 mile long dead end

I suppose that I judge cyclists so harshly, as I expect them to be enlightened, or at least to realise that to cycle is to find the path to enlightenment.. I expect cyclists to drift through life with a blameless, benevolent, almost holy aura, a shining example to the mere mortals that gaze in awe as they pass..
I expect too much..

I expect matey discarded some energy gel wrappers somewhere en route too

Who knows what had caused this rage?

Probably being a 50 something mamil, desperately angry at not being successful enough in life to afford a Porsche. But still considers himself successful enough to be more important than anyone else.

There's some prejudice for ya
