[Closed] ht2 axle stuck
so in trying to cure creaking decided to remove and refit bearings ( feel ok turning by hand) NDS crank of no problem But axle and DS crank will not budge Its a push fit trek carbon frame so dont want to get the biggest hammer on it! any ideas sensible or otherwise appreciated to remove axle.
If bearings and ht2 are knackered they will be replaced of course and loctited 641 to refit.
Plastic hammer. Big whack.
It's likely just a touch of dirt or corrosion seizing it in. It will release.
Hit it harder. Bearing will probably be corroded onto axle so will come out as well (and then you'll need to try and get it off the axle)
Ok hammer it is then,I hope to avoid the corroded on the axle thing it will soak in wd 40 overnight then hammer the bugger again tomorrow I need this to work cos mrs g too fast on her cx
