[Closed] How.much horse power do you have?

It's not surprising households have more than one car, that makes up a lot of horsepower if you add them together (like mine)

I wonder what we'd do if we had to rely on just one vehicle per household..

Skoda Fabia 59bhp.

Why would anyone buy a 59bhp car? It's got to be more painful than walking, surely?

Vicinity of 185 in the car (old dyno run, it's had some new bits since then, some of which probably cost power)
80 in the bike (if it still goes, hasn't moved in a couple of years)

(Cars: i3 170bhp, 335 300bhp, Seat 600 odd, so call it 1072 for the family when we are hoovering..... 😉

I don't see the reason a lot of people obsess about this.

Most of those cars wouldn't sound quite so 'impressive' if you quoted bhp per ton :).

Why would anyone buy a 59bhp car? It's got to be more painful than walking, surely?

Short version:

We all have different priorities.

Long version:

It does 75mph comfortably all day (French Autoroutes), does 50mpg most of the time, is comfy and had A/C. I'm rarely the slowest thing on the road either! I've had cars with 300+bhp before and while it's fun I prefer the more relaxed driving of less power these days, the roads are that busy and potholed that it's hard to enjoy a good blast these days. It's also more fun hustling it along a B-road trying to carry as much momentum as possible than point-and-squirt in a big, powerful car.

My 1989 mr2 turbo, 397bhp. Used to run 12.1 sec 1/4 mile @125mph. Haven't raced it for years though.
Vw t5 102bhp
Peugeot 307 hdi 110bhp
Wife's rav4 150bhp I think.

Peugeot gets used most as it's just a crap car I can leave anywhere and not worry about. Mr2 is hardly ever used, maybe couple of times a year and van is just used when I'm out on somewhere on the bike.
