... in a disc brake?
My 60ml syringes for bleed brakes have all died, after being used, should have cleaned them really. I know the 60mL was OTT, but the only one I have left is a 10ml... is that enough fluid to rebleed a Hayes 9 (front) brake though?
Would like to get it done asap, but as it's a messy rubbish job, I'd prefer to do it once. So will wait till I have the correct sized syringe if required.
Also where the best (cheapest) place to get replacment syringes: the vets, farm supplier or eBay?
Generally 25-30ml syringes are used in bleed kits.
I reckon approx 40ml in a disc brake, but varies between models.
I used to use syringes with a rubber seal on the plunger, but even with Shimano Tango and Magura Blood, they became sticky.
I now use a 20ml syringe with no plunger 'seal'; it is a clear flexible polymer, possibly polyethylene.
Cleans up and works everytime.
Cannot remember where I got/found it.
