the lovely guides say "tap" axle and the bearings will just fall out
i think they are lying.. or i need a bigger hammer.
any advice from anyone? i don't want to end up crying over broken hub if i can avoid it..
Support the hub by the disk mounts on something solid then put a bit of wood over the end of the axle you are about to "tap" then take a regular hammer and give it a good smack, skelp, thump, bash, hit or batter which ever one you prefer.
If this does not work pour hot water over the hub then repete.
My Hopes were harder to release than other hubs. Just do as Rusty Mac sad and you'll be fine
I find wood just absorbs the axle into it, an M5 bolt in the axle will prevent impact damage and allow you to apply the force it probably needs to get it moving.
