I am soon going to buy a set of Hope x2 brakes, and am confused!
Are the normal tech x2s being phased out in place of the evo x2 with new levers - or have I misunderstood and both are still being sold?
Anyone?
From what I can gather X2 phased out new Evo X2 to replace more power from improved lever thingy etc.. merlin are quite cheap with an extra 10%
I thought the same, some places are still selling the standard X2 at normal price so its hard to know if there being phased out...

oh you can still get the brake pads tho for tech x2
The brake pads don't change anyway as X2 caliper is an X2 caliper, the tech/race/evo etc is the lever....
From what I read, as well as the lever changes, the piston is actuated with some sort of a new mechanism.
Evo lever now has a roller fitted to the cam mechanism, further enhancing the smooth feel of the lever.
Maybe I'm better to go for the evo!
