[Closed] Hope X2 Bore Cap Removal

Looking at replacing a bore cap on an X2 caliper. With it have the step at the back of the thread, does it have to removed by screwing it in and removing from the inside, if that makes sense. The M4 bore caps just screw off.

Yeah, you have to screw through into where the piston usually sits. Opposite direction the M4

Are they easy to remove by a novice or is it a case of a full caliper strip and rebuild??

You need to pop the piston out and probably the piston seal too then wind the cap through. Can be a bit of an arse to do.

Unless they're pretty new, probably best to remove all pistons/seals and do a clean and service at the same time. Silicone grease on the seals and pistons helps them to keep running smoothly.

They are spanking new. Just colour coordinating.
Thanks for the advice. I'll set myself a good portion of time to do it right.
