The video on the Hope website looks so easy. Am I just being a jesse or is that a knack of secret tip?
If I am just being too weak any ideas to make the cones pop out...

Are they not held in with circlips?

sadly I don't have a vice. Work a work mate give strong enough grip. Or mole grips. Don't want to get heavy handed and break anything.

The QR adaptors are held in my a rubber O-ring. They should come out easily by hand
The 20mm adaptors are hels in by a circlip, which needs popping out with a small screwdriver

Ta Peter - I knew the 20 mm ones had the circlips but wasn't sure if you used them with the QR adaptors.

Can you get a drift to the qr adaptors by going thru the hub?

They certainly aren't coming out easily by hand. Sitting here making faces as I pull with all my might.

Are you sure it's a pro 2? Bulb's (& some others) have a 2 part axle, which to get out, you remove the q/r & stick an allen key in each end & screw it apart, then the 20mm adaptors are held in with circlips.

Just have a quick look up the q/r hole.

Put a long thin screwdriver through one side of the hub and against the back of the adapter you want to remove. Hit it with a hammer and it should pop out.

The void between the adapters is already 20mm diameter so you should be able to locate it ok. They are only held in with an O ring but can be a pain to take out. The rear ones are even worse.

Certainly Pro 2 as they only just arrived. Will try the long thin screwdrived idea.

Job done.

thanks guys for the advise. Now whack on a rim strip, bit of sealant and hopefully get the tire to seal and then new bike gets it's maiden ride.

They can be a bugger.. I greased mine up after refitting them and it seemed to form a vacuum type seal! Front are usually OK, but the rear drive side is the tricky one IME.

I had a bit of trouble with my DT440s, similar design I think. I put a qr through one end off centre so it hit the back of the adaptor at the other end and tapped it out - I wouldn't hammer it tho, you might bend your QR or damage the adaptor, if one won't come out easy try the other end. Once one is out you can use something bigger to push/drift the other adaptor out.

EDIT: Doh, too late

Rag and mole grips was enough IME. Go easy when clamping the moles to avoid buggering the adapters up.
