I'm currently using some Mercedes branded stuff - but anything really will do as long as it's 4 or 5.1 [not 5]

As uplink has said, as long as it's 4 or 5.1 you'll be fine, car or motor bike will do no need to pay the premium just because it has "cycle" on the container.

Did mine today, popped to halfrauds and looked at the bike section.

£4.99 for 125ml of DOT 5.1.

Car section £4.49 for 250ml Dot 5.1

Hmmmm! how can they get away with a blatant rip off like that?

Just this minute got in from bleeding the gf's mono minis ready for our sierra Nevada biking trip tom. I just bought a small bottle of dot 5.1 from halfords and some car washer jet hose to aid bleeding for 8 quid. No probs at all. All fluid is the same whether car/ mbike etc

If you want to spend big money, because you want to and believe the claims, higher boiling point, dry and wet (brake fluid absorbs moisture over time) Motul RBF 660 .

Probably still cheaper than some mtb labelled bottles.
