as its decided i need to get a full conversion kit - axle as welll.....
how easy is it to do this at home? i dont have any of the bits for re-seating the bearings etc, is it likely to be cheaper/quicker to just get a conversion kit and ss 10mm QR and send it to the lbs??
anyone? need to start ordering the bits ๐
Simple enough job if you have a bit of common sense and mechanical sympathy, best avoided if you haven't.Not found it difficult myself, but have come across some real botch jobs performed by people with delusions of competence.
Pretty easy, though that's assuming a decent selection of sockets with which to whack the bearings back in.

Depends on the size of the hammer, I suspect.

Edit: looking at that video, the first 2 minutes are just getting the cassette off, and there's a fair amount of hammering, so I suspect it's made by someone with about average mechanical talent...
