[#2327086]

Just fitting my Mavic Deetrak to my 2010 Fox 36's and I had fitted a 203mm Hope Floating Rotor, the alloy centre is catching the post mount of the fork, has any one else had this problem, put my Hope Hub wheel back in no problems, I have had the Deetraks fitted to a set of Lyrics with post mount no problem with the same 203mm Floating disc, has anyone else had this issue??

Pretty sure this has come up before, is it possible to get the spider countersunk to give extra clearance?

What Mountain Bike mag are running 36's and Crank Brothers wheels on Helius AM...they encountered exactly the same problem! Their solution was to take a file to the post mounts!

had a similar issue with deemax wheels and fox 36's, either file the post mount (not recommended) or buy a standard rotor. Mavic hubs with a hope floating rotor on fox 36's simply dont fit!

Had the same problem with a Thor/Crossmax ST/ Hope floating rotor combination.

Went back to a standard rotor in the end to sort the clearance issue.

Same here. Mavic Crossmax ST with Fox 36 FLOAT forks. Hope floating rotor catches the post mounts on the fork, so used a Shimano 'standard' rotor instead.

Out of interest, I fitted the Hope floating rotor to another wheel which has a Hope Pro 2 hub, & that set up had no clearance issues when in the fork.

Thanks guys , glad its not just me, yes my Hope Hub also fits and works no problem, If I remember correctly when I've used Shimano brakes on my Hope hubs I had to use a shim to space the disc off to allow the caliper to sit correctly, so the hope hubs must have a slightly different offset, maybe to allow for the floating disc.

It's a fairly well-known problem with the two-piece rotors, especially with Fox forks. I9 and Chris King hubs are, if I recall correctly, unusable with that combination without considerable modification.

Switching to a standard rotor is the cheapest of the non-modification solutions; filing the brake mounts on the fork leg seems to be the easiest and favoured other solution.

Hope Pro II hubs offset the rotor mount further inboard that most hubs - as you say, presumably to accommodate their own rotors.
