Can anyone tell me where I can get an OPEN ENDED bb tool to fit a HOPE BB ?
I can only seem to find the CLOSED type. The chain stay on my Whyte T130Rs gets in the way of the closed type.
I'm assuming you have 30mm bsa thread cups I'd just get an angle grinder & cut a bit out,not sure if anyone else makes the spanner let alone open ended ?
I have a yeti SB66 and the park tools spanner type also hits the chainstays.
Changed to a lezeyne socket type and works a treat.
Had the same issue with the bsa30 hope cups on my ibis. I held the tool at an angle and went very carefully. As above, the hope spanner is the only tool that fits the hope 30mm threaded cups.
It's also quite possibly the least ergonomic tool ever created. I'm sure the edges of the handle on mine were sharpened specially.
Agreed. When not replacing bottom brackets, we use ours for chopping vegetables.
I’ve got a fat spanner one that I got about 16yrs ago, it’s basicallya ring one with a chunk cut out.
Modify a Hope one.
On two of my bikes you need to undo the swingarm to get the Hope tool onto the BB. It's a right faff. Wish they would make a socket type tool.
I got one of these
Any use?
