ging down to Exmouth for a week over Easter with the family and thinking I'll take a bike to escape for the odd couple of hour blast.  Anyone know what the riding is like down there? Should I take the burly hardtail or the gravel bike?

edit: just noticed someone posted very similar post just before me!

You've got Woodbury on your doorstep, and either bike would be fine up there. There's a mix of gravel trails and more rooty, slightly techy Singletrack there.

Fun-wise I'd take the hardtail as you'll have more options. Drop me an email if you want a guide one day. I have 2 weeks off over Easter so should be doable.

Gravel bike would give you the option of local off road at Woodbury or Haldon and maybe a road ride around the Sustrans routes. Hardtail would be good for the Common but you won't need 'burly'

Excellent road riding along the coast, heading East as far as you can. Exmouth - Seaton's a nice day's ride.

Hard tail for either Dartmoor (bit of a drive) or Woodbury common. The common's right on your doorstep and excellent riding.

I guess a CX bike would let you do both.

Shop bike rides on Thursday evenings and Friday mornings from Knobblies if you're after a group.
