Get in! It is quite silly and/or tough depending how hard you want to try. Chipps managed to somehow snap a shoe at the last one. 😐

Any chance you could book the Stone Roses to play the finishers across the line? (I'd not want them to usurp the brass band at the start, and chances are they'd not be out of bed in time for that anyhow)

Ton, if you are at the bottom of that hill again, the least you can do is walk up and carry the bikes down for us.

you should be able to carry 1/2 doz a time. 😆

That way it will save me falling off. 😳

Great! Can I enter category (i) and be an 'unsporting impedance' please 🙂

(Might happen anyway due to remarkable ability to fall off ...)

Is that you on the crosser?

Good effort if it is, that post scares the crap out of me as I've hit it too many times.

No no - I was one of the frustrated MTBers trying to get past the crossers on that bit.

I did hit the post once though.

Maybe you should change the event name to 'Hit the Post'

I've still not quite got over Frank Sidebottom not turning up the other year.

He's missed his chance now, he really has.

at least he enters your event, we've done 16 and have yet to see a soul from STW towers and we are 10 miles closer 🙂

Am I missing something, is this just a two hour race over 3.5mile loop? If so I assume the loop is challenging/ good fun. Will check work diary tomorrow and hopefully be free to enter, the banter looks good.

Bull's Eye.

It's either a not too serious event for the have a laugh brigade or a 2 hours flogging for the 24 hour / 3 Peaks CX podium botherers.

"Am I missing something, is this just a two hour race over 3.5mile loop?". There's a bit more to it than just riding in circles for 2 hours. Those who know, know ;0)

Mud, sweat and gears.

HtN's winter sprinter is the funniest, gloopiest most unpretentious event in the calander. Come on down. Have a two hour blast round a sticky tricky trail then have a bacon butty and a few pints afterwards.

Looking forward to it already.

Due to us having to buy an Entertainments License so the brass band can play (yes, really 🙄 , just in case a euphonium explodes or something) we are now going to make the most of it and try to book a Samba band to play at the top of the hideous grass climb.

Our previous idea was to have a sample of Jeremy Paxman shouting “COME ON, GET ON WITH IT!” looped over and over again.

8:30 in The Church Inn, Prestwich*. They also have rooms and secure bike storage if anybody wants to stay over. The pub is about a mile away if you follow the trails or 3 miles if you are driving.

Those parking at Sedgley Park Rugby Club will have access to their bar (and showers) straight after the event.

*Probably. It usually is.

It was all a bit of a blur/mess for me last time too (the pub bit, not the race).

Lack of sleep, too much coffee, hard graft, pre event nerves and general knackeredness.

In other news. Entries are streaming in at a phenominal rate. Get in fast or miss out.

Helmet cam footage from near the front of the last race. It shows the first 3rd of the lap before the lens gets splattered.

Whoever shot it does some pretty nifty overtaking down to Ton’s marshal position (4m17s)

We don’t use “The Field of Despair” or “MTFU Hill” on lap one but you can see it to the right of the tarmac section.
