[#1849326]

Changing a campag 9spd cassette the old one I took off is like this:

The replacement is (like all campags I've seen)this:

It obviously won't fit as the size is slightly different and the new one has a stepped notch in one spline.

How do I find one like the original? No-one I've talked to seems to know

Can you clean the old one and see what's written on it? What hubs are you using it with?

Did so.

The sprocket is stamped Campagnolo and only other marking says "23A"

The hub simply has a wee collar round the centre that says "Campagnolo Brev Int."

I don't know anything more about the hubs I'm afraid.

I'm sorry to say that it's not mine but I'll pass it on to the lady owner.

What groupset is it? What type of ergos? What age of bike?
It's possibly from a pre 97/8 9spd - not enough information.
What does it say on the lockring? UT? ED?

It's all Chorus Stuff.

Lockring just says Campagnolo Brev Int.

It's possible it may be 8spd....... and I can't count ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I'm sure there were 9 cogs but can only find 8......which would solve the problem.

(Apologies for being a tw*t)

It's an eight speed cassette. The lugs on the freehub/cassette are smaller profile than 9 speed. Plus if your freehub is eight speed it's steel and alloy for 9/10.

It's almost certainly 95/96 8spd. Your best options to replace the cassette are marchisio or miche.

8 speed campag still exists but options are limited

Yeah the spline pattern of the freehub looks more like Shimano but isn't.

Found 8spd cassettes at JE James, DotBike and Sprockets.

Thanks for the help everyone ๐Ÿ™‚
