Looks like an early Bulb to me.
BULB
Bulb I think ?
Cheers guys!
Nah,it's an xc (rotor splines go all the way to the flange)
Bulb, and in my opinion the best hub they've made. It's 12mm axle compatible if you can find one and the free hub won't get chewed up by cassettes.
not an XC, look at the freehub bulge and the machined step where the sticker is, that's trademark BULB.

He could be right you know.
Just had a look at the Bulb that's bolted to the bike hanging up in my lounge.

none of my XCs have splines all the way to the flange, I've seen older sports with the full splines though, maybe an old bulb or tandem variant?
the freehub bit is deffo BULBy and not XCy, the XC freehub bulge is smaller, and tapers more into the hub body and the hub body is a smaller diameter too.
It's not a typical XC either though as they had a steel freehub body & the bulge is different to the one I've got.
It's an old one whatever it is with that sticker & not being etched.
*edit*
the rotor splines on my xc don't go all the way to the flange either.
Remind me again how a sport looked .... Xc hubs were all etched werent they ?
Infact ill bet on old hope sport with ti freehub - lovely loud sounding hub compared to the steels duller click. I bought big uns at the time instead though :/
That's some sort of tandem hub given the amount of spokes that it has.
That looks very much the same as my rear hub which is a bulb.
sport was like XC but with steel freehub, (and I think less machining of the disc splines), think sports were offered in 6bolt and in the original hope spider and lockring/5 bolt style too, this was when XC first replaced the ti-glide and had ti freehub by default, later they dropped the sport and offered the XC with ti or steel freehub.
Thats a ti glide isnt it ? I have the same hub on my road bike and a ti / anod purple hub shell pencil holder ( ratchet teeth stripped)
You lot are hub geeks. 🙂
its a hope xc i had a pair in red, rear was on a bike that got knicked, still got the front
trail rat - yeah, tiz' a ti glide - the hub has done over 70,000 miles in 18yrs and only needed a couple of bearing changes and one pawl change, a fantastic hub imho.
That one above is ti-glide for sure
I'd say one at top of te page is an early bulb
Xc hubs could have steel or ti bodies iirc depending on how much you spent
Disc spacing changed on year 2000 bulbs , pre 2000 can be a pain with modern forks
But it's been a while so may be a little amiss
Is that a 40 hole rear
Yep, £90 for steel, £120 for a ti freehub on an XC! I had some Ti Glides on an old road bike, very good.
The OP's is a Bulb though.
Bulb.
