Swapped out the hose on my front Hope - all done, no drama. Opened up the reservoir and bleed nipple to bleed them and no joy. Squeeze the lever and it just pushes fluid up the bleed hose. Lock off the nipple, release lever and fluid in the master cylinder doesn't drop. Open nipple again and fluid just gets sucked back in to the caliper from the bleed tube. Tried various combinations and tricks, including taping the lever to the bars overnight, but hasn't made any difference.

Guessing I've got a load of air trapped in there. Anyone any tips on getting it to bleed properly?

bleed nipple open and keep pumping the lever/topping up the master cylinder until you get fluid through to the bleed hose can take a while.
or bleed from the nipple up syringe full of fluid on the open bleed nipple and push fluid up to the master cylinder.

Spent hours yesterday evening pumping the lever and fluid in the master cylinder didn't drop at all.

Might see if I can find a large syringe from somewhere...

Disconnect the hose from the caliper and stick an old gear or brake cable down it to release the airlock

Syringe it from the bottom- there's a few hydraulic systems that doesn't work on because of one-way valves etc but I've never met a brake that doesn't bleed best by this method or some variation

Just fill it from the caliper with a syringe, otherwise you'[ll never fill it from the lever end. It just compresses the air in the kine without actually pulling the fluid through.
