Hi after a brake cable kit for a mechanical disk brake, Jagwire seem to do them but will they be long enough for a cross frame.
Any other suggestions gratefully accepted

any long (single, continuous) brake outer will do. you can get long (30m ?) rolls of the stuff to cut to length or go to your LBS and ask for a measured length

Does outer need to be continuous?
Am failing to see how a std cable won't work otherwise.

just since he was asking if they'd be long enough al - you're right that interrupted runs would work
but full-length is better (ed: .. for keeping the shite out)
