Hi,

I had a fall on the blue pig today and realised I was millimetres away from smashing the side of my head up because my helmet sits n to of my head and doesn't cover the sides is there any out there which will do the right job like bmx helmets do?

cheers Tom

What're you using now? A helmet that sits too high is probably the wrong size and style. If you're using a medium Giro for example, try a large- it will sit lower. If you're using a Unisize helmet, get one that comes in different sizes.

Giro do the Hex and Xen/Xar which go low down, Specialized do one and Met do the Terra which all cover more of your head.

oh dear..... the blue pig route can be very slippery when its been raining... crickey do try alot of helmets on that fit properly or if in doubt ask the bike shop for advice... there are sum good helmets out there but getting one to fit correctly is a must ! leisure-lakes have agood collection... tho i was told you have to have a 'specialized head' to wear a 'specialized helmet' !! hahhahah 😉

pro-tec cyphon for me.piss-pot with a visor, basically.
some say it looks crap, but all round head protection is a must, especially with me!

Giro Hex seems to sit lower than my old Specialized Air Force 3.

I like the looks of that Cyphon, does it let much air in? My Hex is pretty sweaty.

3rd the Bell route, I have a fairly large noggin and most Bell helmets almost sit on my ears 😮
