Looking to put some helitape on the top tube of my frame, but the decals are on top of the top coat.
If I ever remove the tape is it likely to take off the decals too?
I've got some of the proper 3M 8671HS tape

It's a Banshee frame in Raw and has a clear coat of lacquer. Seems to me the decals are on top of that.
I don't think the clear coat is that thick so might benefit from a layer of tape. If it didn't have a clear coat I'd not bother

I suppose this is similar to taping forks, most decals are on top there
