Earlier this week i did a lower leg lube and clean after a mucky winter.

I followed the instructions to the letter. But after refitting the rebound knob i found that it would only turn with a fair bit of force. And after a few clicks it stuck fast. So i removed the knob and used an allen key to turn the rebound internally whick appeared to work fine.

Fast forward to today and i have fitted a new top nut, washer and rebound knob. And hey presto its still the same.

The next step in my head is to remove the lowers again and using the rebound knob allen end see if the rebound works that way. If it turns freely then i can only imagine the internal rod is somehow borked when i tighten up the lowers.

Any advice is most welcome as this should be the simplest job ๐Ÿ™‚

I had this problem with my first set of pikes mate. Out of the box the rebound knob was really stiff and only managed about 4 clicks of adjust before it went tight. Try backing off the grub screw so that its only just tight enough to stop the knob from pulling back off. I did this and it was cured. Over tightening it (or doing it up as much as you would think is necessary) seems to make some of them bind up.

Cheers cumbrianmonkey. I tried to find that perfect fit between too tight and too loose but maybe i am just too ham fisted.

Ill have a play again tomorrow and see how i get on ๐Ÿ˜‰
